Introducing

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is a non-invasive procedure that can be used to rejuvenate your skin and hair, giving a more youthful appearance. It utilizes the body’s natural healing power to slow down, and in some cases, reverse signs of aging.

About PRP

PRP is blood that contains platelets, growth factors and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. This treatment has been used medically for many years to accelerate wound healing, tendon repair, ligaments and joint damage.  It also helps with the healing of diabetic ulcers, and regrowth of muscle and bone. PRP can be placed back into the skin by injection or Microneedling, by doing this it initiates a localised stem cell response.

This procedure can be used to treat:

  • Fine and coarse wrinkles
  • Decreased skin elasticity
  • Thinning of skin
  • Scarring from acne or surgery
  • Pigmentation asymmetry
  • Loss of subcutaneous fatty tissue
  • Early stages of baldness
  • Hair Restoration

Frequently Asked Questions

Our clinician will take a very small amount of your blood where it will then be spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and the plasma. The plasma which contains your stem cells is then injected into your skin/hair.

At Doctor Face we recommend 3-6 treatments at regular monthly intervals to encourage fibroblasts, collagen producing cells, to replace any damaged or lost tissue through the ageing process. PRP has also shown excellent results in hair restoration due to the specific growth factors contained in the plasma. We recommend 3-6 treatments for hair restoration.

The effects of PRP treatment can last 12 months to two years, depending on the individual. PRP treatment creates a longer-lasting effect on the skin; however, it is important to note that PRP requires a few sessions to achieve the desired outcome. For individuals looking for an immediate effect, PRP can be combined with non-crossed link hyaluronic acid for quick volume correction.

Anyone looking for skin rejuvenation, to address problem skin, is a suitable candidate for this procedure.

We advise the following:

  • Do not wash your face for six hours after your treatment
  • Do not use any lotions, creams or make-up for six hours after your treatment
  • Drink lots of water 48 hours following PRP treatment
